Congressman Trent Franks (AZ-2) is pleased to announce that Arizona’s economic health continues to gain additional strength.  In today’s report released from the Arizona Department of Economic Security, Arizona is showing record improvements adding 2,100 new jobs at the same time that unemployment rates continue to decrease.

“Revenues are coming in higher than expected, and this is a direct result of President Bush’s tax cuts over the last four years.  These cuts demonstrate that Republican pro-business policies equate to steady, long-term progress for Arizona and our entire nation.”

Congressman Franks stands behind Bush’s tax cuts and strongly supports that they should not be sunset, but should instead be made permanent.

These numbers support data earlier this month that the national deficit continues to decrease.  According to a recent monthly report from the Congressional Budget Office, the United States deficit stood at $73 billion less than one year ago this May.
