February 16, 2005—U.S. Representative Trent Franks’ Chairmanship of the House Republican Conference Voter Values Public Affairs Team was announced today during a press conference in the U.S. Capitol..
As chairman, Congressman Franks will lead the GOP Committee in their communication efforts regarding family preservation, judicial activism, and the protection of innocent human life, among other vitally important issues. Rep. Franks addressed the need to strongly communicate the GOP Conference’s commitment to produce sound legislation in all of these areas.
Rep. Franks remarked that we must ensure our judiciary begins to recognize the limits of its power, “For over 200 years, the Constitution has provided the foundation for liberty that we hold dear. It is astonishing that today we do not seem to collectively recognize the dangers represented by an unrestrained judiciary. This is especially important, considering many of the great conflicts in our society’s recent history have been precipitated by arrogant court decisions imposing unjust mandates on the entire nation.”
