February 21, 2007—Anthony Holly, 24, a Glendale Police officer was killed in the line of duty earlier this week. Mr. Holly only two years ago returned from serving his fellow Americans in Iraq. Upon learning of his death Congressman Trent Franks (AZ-02) issued the following statement:
"Anthony's life was dedicated to protecting the lives of his innocent fellow human beings. As the noble soldier he was, he fought 'not because he hated what was in front of him, but because he loved what was behind him'. He is a testament to the courage and patriotism of all who fight evil both within and beyond America's shores. He laid down his life for his friends. I salute him with all my heart and my loving prayers are with his family who were so blessed to share their earthly lives with him." |
