August 10, 2006—Congressman Trent Franks (AZ-02), in light of today’s foiled terrorist plot, offers praise of British officials and a reminder to all Americans.

 “I salute the British officials who saved British and American lives today. They protected us from a relentless enemy whose intense commitment is to murder innocent civilians and instill terror in free and democratic nations,” said Rep. Franks.

 “This is a clarion reminder to free people everywhere that the insidious ideology that spawns terrorism in the world never sleeps.  Hawks and doves alike must understand this monstrous threat to humanity for what it truly is. The time is upon us to resolutely rise together to defeat terrorism, militarily and otherwise. The alternative is to subordinate this and future generations to nuclear terrorism and forsake peace and freedom as we know it.”
