February 6, 2003—Armed Services Committee Chairman Duncan Hunter announced today that Congressman Trent Franks will serve two Subcommittees, Military Readiness and Strategic Forces.
The Readiness Subcommittee is not only responsible for wartime sustainability and overall military readiness, but also covers base closure.
“To be on the Armed Services Committee itself was a profound honor. To have been chosen to serve on these particular subcommittees was truly beyond my expectations,” Franks said. “The Strategic Subcommittee will deal with ballistic missiles, which is absolutely vital to our country, and the Readiness Subcommittee will have greater influence than any other subcommittee in the U.S. House in protecting Luke Air Force Base.” |
