WASHINGTON – Applications by those seeking a congressional nomination to a U.S. military academy are due by Friday, November 6, 2009, Congressman Dennis Cardoza announced today.

Each member of Congress is allowed a total of five appointees to each service academy. For each vacancy, Congressman Cardoza can nominate 10 individuals.

The academies include U.S. Military Academy at West Point, U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point in New York.
