WASHINGTON – The City of Gustine has been awarded a nearly $1 million grant and $ 4 million loan to make improvements to the city’s water system, Congressman Cardoza has announced. The funding is being provided through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The funds will be used to construct a 1-million-gallon water storage tank, make upgrades to water lines, and install a new water metering system, a well, pumps, and buildings. “I am pleased to see funding from the federal stimulus reaching our community and being used for such a worthy project,” said Congressman Cardoza. “In addition to the jobs it will create, the community is receiving a much needed modernization of its water infrastructure, ensuring a more efficient use of its water supply.” |
