WASHINGTON – Congressman Cardoza announced today a $572,932 grant for Modesto Junior College aimed at increasing educational opportunities and academic quality for Hispanic and low-income students.

The grant is funded through the United States Department of Education for the next five years.

Specifically, it will fund the program entitled Strengthening Student Success Through Student Learning Resources, Professional Development and Grant Resource Development. The effort provides a host of training and educational support to students as well as faculty and staff.

“Our community colleges provide excellent training and a strong foundation for continued education,” said Congressman Cardoza. “I could not be more pleased to announce this grant and I look forward to the expanded opportunities Modesto Community College will be able to provide to our region.”
