Congresswoman Corrine Brown to Host Jacksonville Stimulus Package Economic Summits |

(Washington, DC) - On Monday, March 23rd, Congresswoman Corrine Brown will be hosting three events to inform her constituents about available funding in the economic stimulus package. All three events will take place at the Technology Center at Florida Community College of Jacksonville’s (FCCJ) Technology Center. The first session will be from 8 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., the second, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and the third, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The purpose of the summit is to explain and provide an overview of the various types of competitive grant funding available in The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, which was signed into law by President Barack Obama on February 17th. The events will be directed towards area non profit organizations and private businesses, school board members, college and university administrators, law enforcement agency heads, as well as city and county governments. During the summit, participants will be briefed by representatives from various federal agencies, including the Department of Health and Human Services, Transportation, Energy, Small Business Administration, and Housing and Urban Development, who will assist them to access funding in the law.
