Congresswoman Brown Announces Department of Justice Grant for City of Gainesville
 

(Washington, DC) - Congresswoman Corrine Brown is proud to announce a Department of Justice grant awarded today to the City of Gainesville in the amount of $729,688.  The "Internet Crimes against Children" (ICAC) grant, is being administered by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention within the Department of Justice.

The grant's purpose is to give a boost to the ICAC Task Force to assist state and local law enforcement agencies to develop an effective response to cyber enticement and child pornography cases.  The program encompasses forensic and investigative components, training and technical assistance, victim services and community education.  "I am thrilled to see this vital funding coming to Gainesville, and believe it is of utmost importance to utilize all available resources to deter these heinous crimes against our nation's children," said Congresswoman Brown.
