(Washington, DC) - Congresswoman Corrine Brown, Congressman Mica, Florida Department of Transportation and Amtrak issued the following statement:

"The meeting between the Florida Department of Transportation and Amtrak has moved the discussion between the two parties in a positive direction.  Both parties have come up with ideas that they will follow-up on prior to their next meeting.

Both parties have agreed to future discussion and meetings to resolve the liability issues related to SunRail and will work to cultivate the growing partnership between the Amtrak and the State of Florida."

Congressman Corrine Brown and Congressman John Mica will continue to offer their full support for a resolution to this issue and have pledged any federal support necessary to accomplish this.
