Champaign, IL…U.S. Rep. Tim Johnson has added Terrance Stevenson to his District Office staff. Mr. Stevenson (32) will serve the Congressman as an Outreach Coordinator while also assisting constituents as a liaison between them and the U.S. Department of Education, the Social Security Administration, the Federal Communications Commission and Housing and Urban Development. Stevenson will also help local agencies learn about and gain access to Faith-Based Initiatives.
"Terrance has exceptional qualifications for this position," said Johnson. "He has been a hard-working and active resident of Champaign for ten years. During that time he has built numerous professional relationships, he serves Canaan Baptist Church as an associate minister and was a student-leader at Parkland College prior to his graduation there in May of this year."
Currently, Stevenson is seeking a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Communications at Eastern Illinois University. He earned an Associate’s Degree at Parkland College earlier this year. Other professional positions he has held include: a loan service representative for the University of Illinois Employees Credit Union, an office assistant in the Parkland College Business Development Center and a Site Supervisor for Greenville College. Stevenson and his wife of nearly four years, Regina, reside in their Champaign home.
"I look forward to connecting the federal government to the local communities," said Stevenson. "Through Congressman Johnson’s office, I will be able to assist people in learning about and obtaining available federal resources which they may not know about. I am excited about serving the communities in Illinois’ 15th Congressional District."
