Cummings Statement on Senator Kennedy |

Washington, DC—Congressman Elijah E. Cummings (D-Md.) released the following statement today in response to reports that Senator Ted Kennedy has developed a malignant brain tumor:
“For decades, Senator Kennedy has been a stalwart in our community, fighting for our children, for our seniors, and for the best interests of millions of families across the nation. I have no doubt that as he addresses his current health issue, he will tackle it with the same courage and determination that characterize his constant efforts to lift up the lives of all Americans—particularly in the area of ensuring access to quality, affordable medical care.
“Senator Kennedy is a true American hero. He has been and will continue to be an inspiration to all of us, leading by example and setting a high standard for all who depend on us in Washington, D.C. My deepest thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family during these challenging times.”
