Washington – Congressman Dale E. Kildee (D-Flint) today announced that the Department of Housing and Urban Development has given final approval of $346,500 in federal funds he helped secure in 2006 for the YMCA of Saginaw. With this final approval, the funds can now be used to renovate Saginaw YMCA facilities that serve children. Congressman Kildee worked with Congressman Dave Camp (R-Midland) to secure these funds for the Saginaw YMCA.
“The Saginaw YMCA offers fitness opportunities, classes and vital community outreach programs for local residents,” Congressman Kildee said. “These funds will do more than develop the Saginaw YMCA. They will help develop the Saginaw community.”
The funding is a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Economic Development Initiative Special Grant Project.
