Washington, D.C. - Congressman Dale E. Kildee (D-MI) announced today that Caro Community Hospital would receive a $210,000 grant to purchase and install a multi-slice scanner. The Office of Rural Development, a division of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, awarded the grant to the Caro Community Hospital to provide rural patients with the latest in medical technology.
“The new multi-slice scanner will accelerate the detection process by providing detailed imaging of acute trauma and tumors,” said Kildee. “This new equipment will help thousands of patients diagnose and detect health problems more quickly.”
The Rural Developments funds will be used specifically for the purchase of a multi-slice scanner to replace the outdated single slice CT scanner. The new mult-slice scanner, with its detailed imaging, studies acute trama and tumor work-up can be performed in a single patient visit. Approximately 4,145 rural customers will benefit from the new multi-slice CT scanner. |
