Washington, D.C. - Congressman Dale E. Kildee (D-MI) announced today that Flint’s Bishop International Airport would receive a grant of $289,750 from the Federal Aviation Administration to improve the terminal operations with a new flight information display system. The FAA provided the grant to Bishop Airport to improve the operational efficiency of the airport in order to meet the drastic increase in passenger traffic.
“Bishop International Airport is the front door to our community and continues to bring valuable economic benefits to Genesee County and other surrounding communities,” said Kildee. “This grant will allow Bishop Airport to continue its growth and modernization, while maintaining the integrity and competitive edge of the airport. As passenger traffic continues to increase, improvement and expansion projects are necessary in order to continue to provide excellent services and facilities to travelers.”
This grant will replace the existing flight information system with a new state-of-the-art system that will provide travelers with accurate arrival and departure information. The new advanced system will be web-based, which will provide travelers with real-time information throughout the terminal. |
