WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Dale E. Kildee (D-MI) announced today that he has secured $350,000 in federal funding for Bay Regional Medical Center. The funding was secured in H.R. 3293, the Labor-HHS-Education Appropriations Act, which passed the House of Representatives today by a vote of 264 to 153. The bill now awaits consideration by the U.S. Senate.
“I am very pleased that Congress has approved my request for this important project at Bay Regional Medical Center,” said Congressman Kildee. “This funding will help Bay Regional establish a nationally recognized breast care center, which will improve access to care for women throughout our area. Quality care and early detection are essential in the fight against breast cancer and I am proud to support Bay Regional in this important effort.”
Listed below are the details of the project that received funding at the request of Congressman Kildee:
$350,000 for Bay Regional Medical Center Breast Care Center Bay Regional Medical Center’s breast care capabilities are currently spread across the community and require patients to travel to various locations for comprehensive cancer services. This funding would allow BRMC to consolidate breast care into a Breast Care Center.
• Since FY 2009, Congressman Kildee has secured $540,000 for this important project.
