Washington, D.C. - Congressman Dale E. Kildee (D-MI) announced today that law enforcement in Genesee County and the City of Flint would receive a Department of Justice grant award in the amount of $99,817. The federal funding will help to increase patrols in high crime areas and in the purchase of new digital cameras.
“This grant will help enable Genesee County and Flint to provide the technologies that will assist law enforcement in their effort to make our homes and our neighborhoods safe,” said Kildee. “These resources also allow the City and County to keep police officers on the beat in high crime areas to prevent activities that hurt the entire community.”
The grant funds will be used to increase patrols in high crime areas and conduct community prevention and education programs. Equipment purchases are planned also and will include digital cameras and digital imaging software.
