Washington, D.C.- Congressman Dale E. Kildee (D-MI) announced today that the City of Saginaw would receive $2.5 million in the Omnibus Appropriations bill, which passed the U.S. House of Representatives earlier today. Kildee worked with Senators Levin and Stabenow to secure $1.5 million in the final Veterans Affairs-Housing and Urban Development Appropriations conference report and $1 million in the final Transportation Appropriations conference report. Kildee originally requested these funds from the House Appropriations Committee for long-term improvements to the City of Saginaw.
“The City of Saginaw will be able to use these funds to improve the water infrastructure, rehabilitate part of downtown and increase transit options in Saginaw,” said Kildee. “This funding will help improve public safety and increase access to better facilities and services in Saginaw. I will continue to work with Senator Levin and Senator Stabenow to bring more federal money back to the City of Saginaw.”
