(ST LOUIS, MO)- {Citizen's for Missouri's Children, nutritionists, preventive fitness experts working to curb child obesity in conjunction with the St. Louis Obesity Prevention Center and area YMCA's , will join Congressman Russ Carnahan (MO-3rd) for a townhall meeting on behalf of area parents concerned about their children's health. 

Carnahan a co-sponsor of the Childhood Obesity Reduction Act, which would create a Congressional Council on Childhood Obesity is holding tonight's meeting as a way to gather additional information that might prove helpful in restoring better health for area children.  Once established the Council will work with schools and school districts to develop and implement local, school-based programs designed to reduce and prevent childhood obesity, promote increased physical activity, and improve nutritional choices.
