(Kansas City, MO)—As part of his monthly "Coffee with Cleaver" series, Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, II will visit the Hard Bean Cafe in Grandview, Mo., at 801 Main Street. The coffee will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2006. Congressman Cleaver will join Grandview residents to listen to their concerns and hear feedback.

"It is amazing how many problems can be solved over a cup of coffee. Some in Washington forget that when they pass laws, real people are affected. By sharing a table and listening to each other we are participating in democracy. This is my job, to listen to concerns and act upon the suggestions of the people I represent. It may seem like a small gesture, but these visits really do help shape how I vote and think about the issues that face our nation."
