CLEAVER ANNOUNCES CLASS OF 2011 APPOINTMENTS TO THE U.S. SERVICE ACADEMIES

Missouri’s Fifth District represented by the best and brightest
 

(Kansas City, MO)—This year, Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, II had the pleasure of nominating several talented young students to United States Service Academies through the competitive nominating process. The prestigious and challenging universities selected Colin Andrew Looby, Clinton Richard Jones, Tyler Alexander Becvar, Jacob Hemphil Fogle for their academic, athletic, and community involvement. Shortly after high school graduation, these nominees will report for their “Plebe” or “Doolie” summer orientation activities. 

 

“I am so proud of these young men and proud to be a part of this process. These talented students represent the best and brightest from Missouri’s Fifth District. They are the future of our armed services officer corps. I want to thank them for their commitment and service to our country,” said Congressman Cleaver.

 

Mr. Colin Andrew Looby – Senior at Rockhurst High School has been awarded an appointment to the United States Naval Academy, Class of 2011.

 

Mr. Clinton Richard Jones – Senior at Lee’s Summit High School has been awarded an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy, Class of 2011.

 

Mr. Tyler Alexander Becvar – A Senior at Lone Jack High School has been awarded an appointment to the United States Military Academy, Class of 2011.

 

Mr. Jacob Hemphil Fogle – Attended Rockhurst High School and Fork Union Military Academy has been awarded an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy, Class of 2011. 

 

Emanuel Cleaver, II is the U.S. Representative for Missouri’s Fifth Congressional District, which includes Kansas City, Independence, Lee's Summit, Raytown, Grandview, Sugar Creek, Belton, Raymore and Peculiar, Missouri. He is a member of the exclusive House Financial Services Committee.
