(Washington, D.C) U.S. Congressman Sam Graves called on talented students who are interested in being nominated to a military academy to contact his office. Academy applications are now being accepted through this fall. Students must be at least 17 years of age and no more than 23 as of July 1, 2010. They must also be a legal resident of the Sixth Congressional District. “The military academies offer a unique and rewarding experience,” Graves said. “I encourage anyone who has an interest in attending a military academy to contact my office.” Graves asked those who are interested to contact his office by phone, fax, or email. His office will send an information packet that explains the process in detail. Applicants will need to have all the requested materials into his office by November 6, 2009. Interviews will be held in December and nominees will be announced in January of 2010. Graves is accepting applications for the following academies: United States Military Academy, West Point, New York
