Emerson Announces Transportation and Infrastructure Project Requests  – May 14, 2009
WASHINGTON   –  Every five years, the U.S. House of Representatives takes up legislation authorizing future expenditure of federal funds for highway transportation infrastructure.  In accordance with the rules of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, Rep. Emerson announces the list of priority projects she has requested in the bill to improve transportation infrastructure in Southern Missouri.  The projects Rep. Emerson requested this year for inclusion in the bill are listed below in alphabetical order.

Chester Bridge Rehabilitation in Perry County, Missouri
Request Amount: $20,000,000

Highway 63 Four-Lane from Route 160 to Route ZZ in Howell County, Missouri
Request Amount: $5,900,000

Highway 67 and Highway 160 Interchange in Butler County, Missouri
Request Amount: $8,000,000

Highway 67 Four-Lane from Poplar Bluff to Highway 160 in Butler County, Missouri
Request Amount: $18,600,000

I-44 East Rehabilitation of Pavement between Sugar Tree and Rolla in Phelps County, Missouri
Request Amount: $12,000,000

I-44 Interchange Project (5th Interchange) in Phelps County, Missouri
Request Amount: $18,000,000

Route 34 Shoulder Construction and Pavement Rehabilitation in Cape Girardeau and Bollinger Counties, Missouri
Request Amount: $20,000,000

Route 34 Redesign and Construction from Marble Hill to Glen Allen in Bollinger County, Missouri
Request Amount: $16,000,000

Route 412 Four-Lane from Kennett to the Arkansas State Line in Dunklin County, Missouri
