WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) will visit the Mountain Grove Fire Department on Wednesday, March 19 at 2:30 p.m. CDT. Her visit is open to members of the media.
“I’m very proud to support the members of the Mountain Grove Fire Department in Congress. They are an active organization which is extremely effective in writing and winning federal grants. Anything they can do to improve their own vehicles, equipment and training is ultimately of benefit to the citizens they serve,” Emerson said. “In rural areas, our first responders face unique challenges: they have to cover more ground, their equipment wears down faster, and they often have to make do on shoestring budgets. As a member of the Congressional Fire Caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives, I do everything possible to support fire safety and firefighter safety while putting the needs of firefighters in rural areas of the nation front and center.”
