WASHINGTON, D.C. – Montana’s Congressman, Denny Rehberg, released the following statement in response to reports that the Obama Administration is considering a change to the Veterans Affairs health care system that would eliminate the government’s responsibility for veterans’ health care.
“It’s absurd that the federal government is even thinking about shirking its responsibility to America’s veterans. A promise made to our vets should be a promise kept. While government healthcare doesn’t work for everyone, the simple fact is that our private insurance system is not equipped to handle the unique long-term care associated with the combat-related injuries our veterans obtained in defense of our freedom.”
