Washington, D.C. - {U.S. Representative Mike McIntyre announced today that the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office has received a $467,024 federal grant for its child sexual predator program. Congressman McIntyre stated, “We need to do all we can to protect our children from those who would prey upon them. These federal funds will help the Sheriff’s Office implement strategies preventing child endangerment and protecting communities from sexual predators. These are important dollars coming home to make Cumberland County a safer and better place to live and work! Congratulations to Sheriff Butler and the department for receiving these funds. ” Congress appropriated the $467,024 and the US Department of Justice COPS program obligated the funds. Congressman McIntyre is a member of the House Law Enforcement Caucus.} |
