Washington, D.C. - U.S. Congressman Mike McIntyre announced today that Southeastern North Carolina school districts are estimated to receive nearly $81 million under the American Economic Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The Congressional Research Office has prepared information stating that schools in our area would potentially benefit from $80,996,000, based on available and current data. This may not reflect exact allocations that school districts receive when these funds are actually allocated, but they are reasonable estimates. Congressman McIntyre stated, “Our schools will receive significant funds from this recovery bill that can help them provide educational opportunities to our kids. Education is the great equalizer, and we should always strive to help our students prepare for their future.
