Washington, D.C. - Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Mike McIntyre has been selected Vice-Chairman of the Armed Services Terrorism Subcommittee. As Vice-Chairman, McIntyre will be in a key position to help maintain a strong national defense in the Global War on Terrorism, enhance North Carolina’s military installations, and provide support to our servicemen and women.
McIntyre was unanimously selected as the Vice-Chairman of the Subcommittee on Terrorism, Unconventional Threats, and Capabilities.
The subcommittee has oversight of all of our nation’s special operations forces, such as the Green Berets, Delta Force, Army Rangers, Navy SEALS, Air Force Special Operators and the recently- designated Marines Special Operations Command, as well as the Joint Special Operations Command.
Congressman McIntyre stated, “Our national security is vital to personal safety and economic well-being. As a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee, I will continue to make sure that we are doing all we can to protect our freedoms and our way of life. As Vice-Chairman of this important subcommittee, I will do all that I can to support our Special Operations Forces worldwide. I am honored to serve on this key subcommittee for the 111th Congress.”
