(Washington, D.C.) – Today, U.S. Representative Sue Myrick (NC-9) announced that she has been appointed to serve on three subcommittees in the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. Representative Myrick will be serving on the Health subcommittee, the Consumer, Trade, and Consumer Protection subcommittee, and the subcommittee on Environment and Hazardous Materials.
“I am honored to have been selected to serve on these subcommittees,” said Rep. Myrick. “I’m especially happy that I can put my personal and legislative experience to work on the Health subcommittee. My hope is that I can help solve many of the important health issues Americans face.”
The House Committee on Energy and Commerce is the oldest legislative committee in the US House of Representatives. It has wide jurisdiction over the Healthcare, Telecommunications, and Energy Industries. Its jurisdiction also extends over five Cabinet-level departments and seven independent agencies. Representative Myrick previously served on the Rules Committee, known as the “Speaker’s Committee.”
