MYRICK LOOKING FOR KOREAN VETERANS

(Washington, D.C.) – Representative Sue Myrick (NC-09) will be holding a special ceremony on July 27, 2004, the 51st Anniversary of the end of the Korean War, to honor Korean War Veterans.  At the ceremony, Rep. Myrick will be presenting the Korean War Service Medal, and the Korea Freedom Medal, which is given by the Korea Freedom League on behalf of the Korean people.

 Rep. Myrick is asking that all Korean War veterans in the 9th Congressional District, who have not received these medals, to contact her office so that they can be properly honored for their service.  If you are a Korean War Veteran, or are a friend or a family member of a Korean War veteran, please call Rep. Myrick’s staffer, Robert Becker, at (704) 861-1976.  Information will be given on how to participate and receive these medals.

 Veterans need to contact Rep. Myrick’s office by May 27th in order to be able to participate in this special ceremony.  Currently, 150 veterans are scheduled to be honored.
