BROOKLYN - U.S. Rep. Edolphus “Ed” Towns (NY-10) today announced that he will be holding a prayer service for the families of the victims of Haiti’s earthquake to provide comfort and resources as families await word from their loved ones and the search and rescue efforts continue.
Rep. Towns, an ordained Baptist minister, organized the service, and with Pastor Mullery Jean-Pierre of Beraca Baptist Church will lead attendees in prayer this coming Sunday. At the service, attendees will stand together in solidarity to pray for the people of Haiti and their loved ones, many of whom are living in Brooklyn and abroad.
Rep. Towns will serve as the minister of ceremonies.
Brooklyn residents, clergy, elected officials and community leaders have been invited to attend. This event is free and open to the public.
