BROOKLYN, New York – U.S. Rep. Edolphus “Ed” Towns (NY-10) will host a health care town hall meeting to focus on strategies for reforming the national health care system: coverage, delivery and cost. With major health care reform efforts underway, Towns has organized a panel of experts to discuss and identify ways to make health care more affordable and more accessible for all New Yorkers, especially for the 1.3 million statewide who are uninsured. In Brooklyn alone, 413,619 persons are currently uninsured and with unemployment on the rise, that number is expected to grow.
