BROOKLYN - U.S. Rep. Edolphus “Ed” Towns (NY-10) issued the following statement today in support of the leadership and preparation efforts put forth for the MacDonough Street Block Party in Bedford-Stuyvesant that took place Saturday, October 24, 2009:

“I am proud to see the dynamic transformation that has taken place in the Bed-Stuy neighborhoods along MacDonough Street. I salute the community organization and residents who have put countless hours into the rehabilitation of this neighborhood. The organization, Youth Empowerment Mission, Inc., that spearheaded this festive project is bringing lasting changes to Bed-Stuy, and I join the residents of the MacDonough Street in celebrating this positive step forward.”
