Washington, DC - Congressman Ed Towns (10th-NY) expressed his outrage over yesterday's terrorist attack at a Jewish seminary in Jerusalem that killed eight people and wounded ten others.
"I wholeheartedly condemn this unprovoked act of terror and those responsible for the attack at Yeshivat Merkaz HaRav. I want to also express my sincere condolences to the State of Israel and the families of those who were murdered and critically injured in the attack. I am grateful that one of my former staff members, David Katz, who is studying at a seminary in Jerusalem, is safe. These were innocent students and this massacre should be condemned all those who believe in peace and the rule of law."
"At this difficult time, Israel and her allies should know that the United States stands by their side and I have communicated my sincere condolences to Ambassador Dan Gillerman, the Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations." The Congressman emphasized, "Israel must be allowed to continue to take the necessary steps in providing security for all of its residents."
