BROOKLYN, New York – U.S. Rep. Edolphus “Ed” Towns (NY-10), Chairman of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, will deliver an update on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act at a Williamsburg town hall meeting next Monday. At the meeting, Towns will discuss the local impact of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), which provides $24.6 billion to New York State to save and create jobs; modernize schools; provide essential financial relief for families and businesses hardest hit by the economic downturn; and, make important investments in infrastructure and technology.
Representatives from the governor’s office and the mayor’s office have also been invited to provide comprehensive information about how New Yorkers, small businesses, local hospitals, and yeshivas can access stimulus funds.
Following Towns’ presentation, residents will have an opportunity to ask questions.
