WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today Congressman David Wu issued the following statement in response to President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address:

“The president is focused like a laser beam on jobs and the economy, which is exactly what we need right now.  However, the proposed freeze on one-eighth of the federal budget is not the right move.  We should make smart investments in the American people, grow the economy, create jobs, and restore revenues—and then have the fiscal discipline to pay down our national debt.  The president has been poorly served by the Wall Street focus of his economic team.  This freeze is the last straw.  It is time for them to go.”
