Shuster Remembers the Victims of Flight 93 on the 5th Anniversary of 9/11

Washington, DC – “On this historic anniversary of the worst terror attack in US history, I would like to honor the memory of the first heroes of the War on Terror,” said Congressman Bill Shuster.

“The American people’s steadfast support for the families of flight 93 is a symbol of the perseverance that we, as a country, have maintained –even five years later.

“The sacred ground at Shanksville will forever live in the hearts and minds of all Americans as the moment that we stood up and said “We will not stand idly by while our country is attacked.”

“In the face of an unseen enemy, the heroes of Flight 93 did what all Americans hope and pray they would have the courage to do in the face of terror. They stood up for freedom and sacrificed themselves to save countless others.

“This is why we are working to have a permanent memorial built at this site-  so that the people of Shanksville , of America, and of the world, never forget the sacrifices made on flight 93.

“The War on Terror is far from over. We must continue to fight terrorism with the same dedication and passion on the fifth anniversary of 9/11 as the day we were attacked—to honor the memory of those who died.

“I would like to thank our military men and woman for their continued service and dedication in the War on Terror, from Washington, DC to Iraq.

“And we are thankful to the heroes of Flight 93 and their families for their sacrifice.”
