SHUSTER PRAISES LOY FOR SERVICE AND PROTECTION

Washington, DC – Congressman Bill Shuster released the following statement regarding the retirement of Deputy Secretary Admiral James M. Loy from the Department of Homeland Security:

“Admiral Loy has served America during troubled times with one of the most difficult responsibilities – protecting the America people.  To me, that is the number one responsibility of the federal government, and having a Blair County native help America meet this critical need is truly an honor and a source of pride for the entire community.  During these times of change, Admiral Loy has helped transform the Coast Guard and build the Department of Homeland Security.  His entire story is remarkable – a Coast Guard Academy graduate, Commandant of the Coast Guard, director of the Transportation Security Agency, father of two, and a grandfather of two.  Admiral Loy has dedicated his life to the United States and has worked hard everyday to protect the people who live here.  Admiral Loy – we are proud of your decorated service and commitment to preserving the freedoms we have in America.”
