SHUSTER APPLAUDS GRANT FOR LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEM

Washington, DC – Congressman Bill Shuster announced today a grant for the Chambersburg Advanced Life Support System (ALS).  As a major player in the South Central Pennsylvania Terrorism Task Force, and the sole provider of ALS service for this portion of Franklin County, this funding is significant to all residents of the County because of the communities role as a first responder.

“There is a coordinated effort in Pennsylvania to make certain every community has the appropriate resources in case of an emergency,” said Congressman Shuster.  “We also must make sure we maintain our equipment.  This funding will provide the proper housing facility for the Advanced Life Support System.”

The Chambersburg ALS will receive $100,000 for a secure area and facility to store the equipment.  Currently, all of the vehicles that offer ALS service are not housed together but with this funding they will be provided the appropriate facility.

The funding for this is allocated through the Labor, Health and Human Services portion of the Omnibus bill, a massive piece of legislation which includes a variety of appropriations.
