“This is a heinous crime and my heart goes out to all of the family and friends who have lost a loved one.  Miguel Padilla is an illegal alien and we must not allow people like this to remain in our country.  He was previously arrested and it is outrageous that he was not deported at that time.  He has a driver’s license, a registered car, went to school and has been arrested before – all after entering the U.S. illegally.  This is an example that happens far too often in our country, and I remain committed to enacting quality border security legislation in Congress.  This type of illegal immigrant cannot remain in this country.”
