SHUSTER HELPS FUND BOY SCOUT FACILITIES

Penn’s Woods Council, Boy Scouts Receive Grant For Renovations

Washington, DC – Congressman Bill Shuster announced today a grant for the Penn’s Woods Council, Boy Scouts of America.  The funding will be used by the Boy Scouts for new equipment, facilities and more storage at their primary campsites in Tyrone and Indiana.

“The Boy Scouts of America help teach our children about leadership and encourage a set of strong values that will be part of them for the rest of their life,” said Congressman Shuster.  “At the same time, the young Boy Scouts are given a variety of useful tools for the outdoors.  It is truly a remarkable experience for them.”

The Penn’s Woods Council will receive $100,000 for the Council’s camp upgrades.  The  two primary campsites currently require improvements for the kitchen, storage and platform facilities.  This funding will help them provide these improvements.

The Boy Scouts funding was included in the Veterans Affairs-Housing and Urban Development portion of the Omnibus spending bill, a massive bill which includes a variety of appropriations.
