Washington, DC – Congressman Bill Shuster announced today a grant by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to the Fulton County Industrial Development Association. The funding will be used to make small business loans available to employers and potential employers in the area looking to expand, purchase capital and more.
“This is a great opportunity to fund small-sized businesses that may not be eligible for funding themselves from USDA,” said Wendy Melius of Fulton Industrial Development. “This is a cost-effective way to help those looking to start or grow a business.”
USDA, through its Rural Development program, will provide $94,000 to the Fulton Industrial Development Association. The funding will be used for a revolving loan program that will help businesses get off the ground and develop those looking to grow. Through the Fulton Development Association, the grant will finance private businesses with less than one-million dollars in revenue and with fewer than 50 new employees through the loan.
“As our economy continues to move in the right direction, our small businesses are once again the driving force,” said Shuster, a member of the Small Business Committee in Congress. “These companies make up the communities, neighborhoods and towns we live in, and these loans will provide an opportunity for growth, new jobs and more.” |
