“We must make certain our firefighters have the support they need to defend our communities, especially because of their role as first responders,” said Congressman Shuster.  “The men and women who protect our children and neighborhoods are dedicated to their cause and we must be committed to their protection.  This grant will help provide for their safety.”

Gallitzin Fire Company Number One received a federal grant for $50,490.  Gallitzin Fire serves both Blair County and Cambria County.  This funding will be used to help maintain their operations as well as to purchase new equipment, including safety gear for firefighters.

The funding for this grant is administered through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
