“The House and Senate have now passed the Intelligence Reform bill with overwhelming support, but this was simply a step in the right direction.  There are still outstanding issues that Congress needs to address to protect the homeland, including US identification fraud.  We need to enact a strong standard that will stop a terrorist or illegal alien from getting a driver’s license because border security is a major concern in a post-September 11^th world.  The hijackers that turned routine flights into death traps were able to obtain sixty-three validly issued driver’s licenses to help carry out their heinous  mission.  Protecting the American people is the federal government’s top priority and Congress must work to stop terrorists at our gates and prevent illegal aliens from getting US identification.  We need to enact a strong standard that will protect the American people.”
