INDIANA FIRE COMPANY FUNDED FOR NEW GEAR

Shuster Announces Grant for New Florence Fire Company

Washington, DC – Congressman Bill Shuster announced today a federal grant for the New Florence Volunteer Fire Company to provide new equipment and gear for the frontline firefighters.

“Our volunteers donate their time and energy to protect our communities when an emergency arises,” said Shuster.  “This funding is important because it ensures that all of them have the gear they need to do their jobs.”

New Florence Fire will receive $26,078 to buy 25 sets of new turn-out gear, helmets and boots for all the frontline firefighters in the company.  Turn-out gear is the equipment used to protect the firefighters when they go into burning buildings.

The funding is administered through the Department of Homeland Security Firefighter’s Assistance Program.  The grants are awarded directly to fire departments around the country to help them provide the services they offer.
