IUP RECEIVES FUNDING FOR MULTI-USE COMPLEX

Shuster Secures Federal Grant To Help Construct New Facility

Washington, DC – Congressman Bill Shuster announced today a grant for the Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) Regional Development Complex.  IUP will use the funding to construct a multi-use facility on campus for students, faculty and the region.

“This new facility will attract all types of conferences, shows and performances for the enjoyment of everyone at the school and in the community,” said Congressman Shuster.  “At the same time, it will serve as an economic development tool to stimulate the economy by creating jobs and keeping it moving forward.”

IUP will receive $105,000 to build this new facility.  This project will provide for the largest multipurpose complex of its kind between Pittsburgh and State College, and make Indiana County the regional focal point for entertainment, sporting events, and much more.

“This funding will be put to work to help build the center and make Indiana County the hub for the region,” said Congressman Shuster.  “This is exciting news for everyone in the region.”

The grant for IUP’s Regional Development Complex was included in the Veterans Affairs-Housing and Urban Development portion of the Omnibus spending bill, a massive bill which includes a variety of appropriations.
