SHUSTER SECURES FUNDING FOR J.C. BLAIR

J.C. Blair Receives Grant For New Technology In Wound Healing Center

Washington, DC – Congressman Bill Shuster announced today a grant for J.C. Blair Hospital in Huntingdon County.  The Hospital will receive funding for a Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber (HOC) in its Wound Healing Center.  The HOC is essential in the Wound Healing Center because it is the most advanced, scientifically proven, and evidence-based form of therapy.

“We want to make certain we have the best technologies in our hospitals,” said Congressman Shuster, a member of the Rural Health Care Coalition.  “Today modern technology plays a large part in health care and meeting the needs of patients.  This piece of equipment will help J.C. Blair provide the best care to its patients and ensure the highest quality of life after therapy.”

J.C. Blair will receive $250,000 for this equipment.  The HOC provides the best type of therapy because it increases independence and improves quality of life.

The funding for this was located in the Labor, Health and Human Services section of the Omnibus spending bill, a massive piece of legislation which includes a variety of appropriations.
