GRANT SECURED BY SHUSTER TO RESTORE HISTORIC WALL

Funds Set Aside By Shuster To Renovate Roaring Springs Retaining Wall

Washington, DC – Congressman Bill Shuster announced today a grant to assist with the restoration of the Roaring Springs Retaining Wall.  The wall, which runs along Main Street (State Road 0867) in Bedford and Blair Counties, has been deteriorating and is in need of renovation.

“This is an historic wall that we should do our best to help preserve.  It supports the Roaring Spring Railroad Station and the Everett Railroad tracks,” said Congressman Shuster, a member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.  “I am happy to announce the funding for this renovation project because the Roaring Springs Wall is something that should remain together for years to come.”

The Transportation section of the 2004 Omnibus spending bill includes $200,000 for the repairs.  The Omnibus bill is a massive piece of legislation, which includes a variety of appropriations.
