SHUSTER TOURS FLOOD DAMAGED AREAS IN SOMERSET

Washington, DC – Congressman Bill Shuster today toured areas damaged from flooding in Somerset County.  The Congressman has been meeting with state, local and federal officials as well as touring areas in the Ninth District that have been effected from the heavy rainfall.  Today he toured parts of Somerset County, including Meyersdale.

“We are working to gather as much information as possible on these tours,” said Congressman Shuster.  “Hurricane Ivan had an impact on so many people and these tours are part of the process to get their lives back to normal.”

The fact-finding tour group included State Senator Richard Kasunic, State Representative Bob Bastian, the Army Corps of Engineers, area residents and other local officials.  In September, Congressman Shuster’s staff toured damaged facilities in Smithfield Township, as part of the same mission.
